I am thrilled to announce that after a rigorous and highly successful beta-testing phase, the Pedagogical Operating System (PedOS) of the LearnAdapt Platform is taking a massive leap forward. In just a few weeks, we will be officially releasing PedOS 1.1 Lumina.
For those who have been following the journey at learnadaptresearch.org, this release represents a critical milestone in our mission to build a comprehensive ecosystem for machine pedagogical intelligence.
What is PedOS 1.1 Lumina?
At its core, PedOS is driven by the Ensemble of Specialized LLMs (ES-LLMs) architecture. By moving away from monolithic, untamed black-box models, we have engineered an orchestrated system designed specifically for the nuanced demands of education. Lumina brings this architecture to life, offering a highly adaptable and structurally sound foundation for AI in learning environments.
But an operating system is only as powerful as the ecosystem that builds upon it. With PedOS 1.1 Lumina, we are opening the doors for unprecedented creation and collaboration:
- For the Developers: You can now utilize our comprehensive SDK to build custom tools and distribute them directly into our expanding plugins directory.
- For the Non-Coders and Visionaries: We are introducing the Agentic Studio. You no longer need to know how to code to bring your pedagogical ideas to life. Simply describe the plugin you imagine in natural language, and our AI will build it for you.
A Flywheel for the Entire Education Community
The LearnAdapt Platform is not just an isolated tool; it is designed to be an inclusive ecosystem. Whether you are a researcher testing new pedagogical hypotheses, a practitioner delivering content, an administrator managing educational infrastructure, or a learner navigating a curriculum, PedOS 1.1 Lumina is built for you.
By connecting all these stakeholders, we are generating a continuous flywheel of pedagogical improvement, where research directly informs practice, and practice generates data to fuel further research.
Join the Alpha and Beta Testing
As we prepare for the official rollout of Lumina, we are actively expanding our testing pool. We are currently inviting passionate alpha-testers and beta-testers to get early hands-on experience with the Agentic Studio, the SDK, and the core PedOS features.
Please note: Access to the platform is currently by request only to ensure a stable and supported experience for our early adopters.
Catch it LIVE at AIED 2026 in Seoul
If you are attending the AIED 2026 conference in Seoul, Korea, at the end of June/July, you will have the opportunity to be among the very first to experience PedOS 1.1 Lumina in action.
I will be conducting a live demonstration during my oral presentation of my paper, “From Untamed Blackbox to Interpretable Pedagogical Orchestration: The Ensemble of Specialized LLMs Architecture.” We will also be leveraging the Festival of Learning at the conference to let educators, researchers, and students dive deeper into the LearnAdapt ecosystem.
I look forward to sharing this space with the global AIED community and exploring how we can build the future of adaptive learning together!
